WHAT EVERY BRIDE NEEDS TO KNOW

NEW ARRANGEMENT TRENDS

When the Teleflore International Conference was held in Tokyo, which consists of a system of 55,000 member florists from 185 countries around the world, the host organized a Flower Festival and an International Floral Design Competition.

Looking at the floral arrangements that dominated the presentation in Tokyo, it can be concluded that the current trends are modern, elongated, cascading forms, where flowers and other decorative elements fall in waterfalls and, although simple, appear very luxurious, due to the harmony they radiate and the refined lines that characterize them. There is a lot of tenderness, airiness and romance in these harmonious new forms that mark the bouquet for this season.

Purple and white tones are modern (purple is dominant in clothing, and flower arrangements are in line with that), so there are many purple flowers: phalaenopsis, eustoma, freesia, but also purple roses and decorative onions. When it comes to flower arrangements, they are very modern constructions (large, medium and small), which have been popular in our country for a long time. Combinations of tree branches and bark, dried fruits, shells, wire, silver and gold threads, bamboo.... they provide an opportunity to ignite the imagination.

EUROPEAN STYLE IN ARRANGEMENT

Seminar International floral art

The School of Art and Nature International organized a seminar in Paris led by top masters in the field of floral design: Mrs. Hermina Frezal from France, Stein Are Hansen from Norway and Richard Haslam from Ireland. The topic was dedicated to weddings.

Shades of light green and grass are in trend in Ireland. Retro style is in fashion (bouquets are very similar to those made 100 years ago, but with new details of wires, pins with pearls... The most popular flower is calla, and carnations of light green or some other interesting colors are used.

The Norwegian Stein Hansen skillfully handles the equisetum, which gives great possibilities in arranging.

Norwegians love hanging Biedermeiers. Stein emphasizes white flowers, Singaporean orchids, stephanotis, wax. Use pinwheels to attach greenery and flowers.

In France, during the spring and summer months, Biedermeiers feature white, champagne or green flowers, while in the winter months Mrs. Frezal recommends burgundy and powder pink flower combinations.

The Biedermeier muff is her favorite. She uses glue and wire, she helps herself with pins... Her clients, such as Elton John, Tina Turner, talk about her popularity...

WEDDING DECORATION

Wedding decoration

American Vera Wong is in charge of spectacular weddings, and Telelfora is in charge of making every wedding a little unforgettable. There is no golden rule, but we will reveal to you all the ways you can make this big day more beautiful.

There is great excitement and special attention when deciding on a dress, bouquet, hairstyle, shoes, but also everything that planning a wedding involves. Flower decoration is not an easy task and preparations should be started a month before, when it comes to large and demanding weddings. The nature of the couple getting married is taken into account, their wishes, possibilities and a small study is made. The whole atmosphere should be in the spirit that is a part of themselves. Flower decoration is something that gives a special impression and cannot be done without.

In the style of Elena's wedding

The entire wedding decoration is always a challenge for Teleflora. One such vitally important task was entrusted to us by Elena (we know her as a successful, young woman and public figure). The preparations started a few months earlier, everything was planned in advance. We chose a style (romantic "retro"), decided on roses and defined types and colors, greenery and accompanying details. Romance was a very important motive for reviving the warm and vivid atmosphere.

Specially designed vessels, shallow with feet like Renaissance ones with patina, as well as large cups on the capitals.

On the guest tables, tight, compact arrangements, on the wedding table, richer, more elegant with lace and organdy ribbons, richly decorated with heavy silver candlesticks, the stamp of an elegant, royal.

On the wedding tables, densely blooming roses, a replica of those behind the newlyweds, three bouquets sprinkled with large flowers, elegantly seductive like pink ballerinas.

The space is decorated to the maximum, the face of a well-known restaurant has changed.

A champagne tulle dress over champagne silk petticoats with roses in lapels and a Swarovski crystal encrusted corset - a gorgeous bridal gown - and Biedermeier couldn't have been any different. Elena's favorite embroidered lace as a purse with her favorite roses, ribbons, lace, pearl necklaces...

A Teleflora classic

Teleflora Classic is one of the most sought after styles. Romantic and wildly cultivated. Flower decoration can be discreet, simple, rich, extravagant, elegant... A wedding bouquet is most often given by the best man. She chooses it according to the wishes of the bride or the choice is left to her. In that case, we recommend the godmother to pay attention to the appearance of the bride that day, to the dress, details, colors... (more details about the styles of Teleflora's bidermaids in the section Teleflora's bidders). Teleflora Biedermeiers

The wedding party

Depending on the customs, wedding guests are recognized by the fact that they are decorated. The hosts decorate them with towels, decorative handkerchiefs, most often with rosemary or flowers. First, the groom, brother-in-law, bridesmaid, old man, godfather and godmother, parents are decorated

Embroidered towels are placed over the left shoulder or rosemary and flowers are attached to the left side. Decorated rosemary is arranged in a basket that is also decorated.

The decoration is done by the girls, the bride's unmarried sisters or friends, according to Catholic custom - bridesmaids, best friends. They are just as important as the best men, they keep the guests in a good mood and relieve the bride.

The flower for the groom is a Biedermeyer flower, usually a rose, discreetly decorated with an ivy leaf, asparagus trefern. If there are details in the Bidemajer, the flower can be made with pearls, threads... Cumin flower must be with gypsophila, it can also be satin, organdy.

In addition to the bride, the bridesmaids also wear a wreath for their head.

Car - what the Biedermeier is to the bride, the car is to the groom. Going to the wedding in the car of your dreams in an old vintage car, limousine or carriage also gets noticed. It must be florally decorated with an arrangement only in the front, and in the front and back, perhaps with a flower garland, balloons, an arrangement in the shape of a heart or a wedding ring. The choice of flowers depends on the color of the car, sometimes there is a protective color of the wedding, the emblem and the flowers are in those shades (light blue and silver).

Home decoration

A flower arch on the gate or above the door is a well-known sign. In fashion is a flower garland that follows the door frame, longer on one side and shorter on the other. Simpler braided with more durable greenery and gypsophila, arranged in places with lovely flowers of mini roses, daisies. It can be more richly arranged with the addition of fruits from nature, branches, details of tulle bows, organdy, etc.

More and more often, the front door or the door of the girl's room is marked with a wreath in the shape of a heart, sometimes with an arrow made of wheat stalks.

Flower arrangements for the house can be more discreet, richer or extravagantly arranged depending on the desire, ambience, style... Flowers are placed on chests of drawers, serving tables. In larger spaces, the arrangement is placed on a stand.

Hall decoration

Flower arrangements are made depending on the prevailing colors and style. For the wedding table, the main arrangement is usually of elongated lines with low-set flowers, in the middle of the table or on the edge of the table, which gives the opportunity for greenery, branches and flowers to fall, which enhances the decorative effect.

Sometimes a composition is made of arrangements and garlands that are attached to the tablecloth or follow the edge of the table - since the flowers are not in water, for garlands you should choose more durable flowers, roses, ornithogalum, daisies...

On the guest tables, small arrangements of the same flowers as the main arrangement - nice variants with candles or small balloons. Ring of flowers for napkins, for a knife. A flower for each guest or a small gift.

The buffet table can be decorated with an arrangement on a stand. These arrangements are grateful for the decoration of the hall itself because they look impressive. The flowers are at a height and a line extending towards the ground can be achieved.

Arrangements on constructions of an unusual shape are special.

Sometimes the wedding takes place in the same hall where the celebration is held. Spatial construction can look like in the picture.

Cake

Cake - when it comes to celebrations, cakes are inevitable, especially birthdays and weddings. Marzipan flowers are increasingly being replaced by fresh flowers. It can be a Biedermeier flower, her favorite flower... Covered with whipped cream, marzipan or a special sugar mass, they stand up well to mini flower arrangements in a coaster. Flowers can be taken as a keepsake.

Record from one wedding

Miss Ivana was godmother three times. Since the godmothers are in charge of choosing the Biedermeiers, she chose all three at Teleflora. This time she came to agree on the flower decoration for her brother's wedding from Austria. Every detail was taken care of, everything had to be flawless. The newlyweds who stayed at the hotel were greeted by several flower arrangements as a sign of welcome. The cocktail hall was festively decorated, as was the table where the newlyweds and groomsmen sat. On the guest tables, candlesticks with a mini flower arrangement and a candle. Arrangement for a limousine to drive the newlyweds to the church. And two Biedermeiers, semi-hanging with callas and one smaller round, rose for throwing.

HISTORY OF BIEDERMEYER

The first recorded use of flowers at weddings dates back to the 4th century when brides wore wreaths of flowers and herbs because the herbs in the wreaths were believed to have magical powers to ward off evil spirits from the bride. These wreaths were generally worn together with the veil or above the veil.

Roman brides of the period wore yellow veils, as it was believed that yellow was the favorite color of the wedding god and would bring good luck. In addition to the wreath, the brides of that time also wore several ears of grain, which symbolized fertility

The period from the 5th to the 10th century is characterized by the use of garlands, in addition to the usual wreaths. Garlands were popular because of their many uses. Apart from the fact that the bride could decorate herself with them, they were also used to decorate the banquet hall, and they were very easy to make.

Today, the garland is also popular, it's true, much more often for decoration, although we can also find it as a fashion detail around the shoulders of a modern and informal bride.

The earliest appearance of today's round form of wedding bouquets can be found in Europe around the 14th century. It was believed that bouquets of flowers and fragrant herbs have an antiseptic and therapeutic effect and protect against the plague and other diseases. They were made mostly in metal holders filled with moss to preserve moisture. At the beginning of the 17th century, such bouquets were worn by both men and women at weddings, but only for aesthetic reasons. The colonists brought this fashion to America, where wearing bouquets during weddings became more popular than in Europe. In the 19th century, such small round bouquets became a hallmark of Victorian ladies who wore them on their dresses.

During the 16th century, brides living in cities began to wear wreaths made of silk ribbons woven with grain. They wore garlands of leaves and flowers in their hair. The symbolism of the circle, as a sign of eternal love, had a great influence in that period. This fashion became popular at the beginning of the 20th century, and has remained until today as a frequent nostalgic detail with the same symbolism.

The beginning of the 17th century was a time of social rise and extraordinary extravagance among European royal families. The brides were richly and ornately dressed in bright colors and adorned with gold, silver and precious stones, all of which was reflected in the flowers and styles of the bouquets. Greenery was often covered with gold or silver. However, at the end of the 17th century, the wedding was turned into a simple ceremony at home and the extravagance was totally abolished.

Around 1756, the idea of a white wedding with all the accompanying details and decorations that are known today began to take off. In addition to white, blue, purple and yellow were also popular. Veils were replaced by caps - bonnets and hats trimmed with lace and decorated with flowers. During the early 19th century, the period of great romanticism, this idea - wedding in white - was firmly established. Favorite flowers were orange blossoms, roses, and myrtle. Following the trends of Victorian ladies who wore corsages ("body bouquets" and "shoulder bouquets") on their everyday dresses, they became indispensable fashion details on the wedding dresses of the brides of that time, made mostly only of orange blossoms or roses. The Biedermeier style of wedding bouquets was popular from 1850-1870. inspired by Swiss, Austrian and German customs. The main characteristic of that style is the arrangement of flowers in concentric circles separated by greenery. Lemon and orange peels were often used with the addition of jasmine and mint for their fragrance.

During the 1880s and 1890s, flowers for wedding bouquets were chosen according to their shape, specific scent and color. The most popular were orchids, roses and gardenias. Carnations were then considered exotic flowers because they had just begun to produce varieties with long stems and larger flowers. A favorite of the time was a cascading bouquet of several dozen carnations with plumosus and wide lace ribbons.

With the transition to the 20th century, bouquets became larger, richer, mostly compact and triangular in shape, with smaller flowers and a bunch of falling ribbons at the ends of which flowers and greenery were tied. Around 1912, bouquets became smaller, more natural. Wide, ankle-length dresses, wide-brimmed hats, and wide, triangular bouquets in the arms were typical of the brides of the time. Then comes the time of richer bouquets, more often cascading, with ribbons at the end of which it was customary to hang two symbolic wreaths. During the war, compact bouquets of smaller flowers with lace trim were popular and reminiscent of those of the 1600s. During the 50s of the 20th century, more modern forms became more and more popular, and newer types of flowers such as glamelia, for example. In the sixties, the flower children will bring their own style. Weddings are quite informal, mostly outdoors, at sunrise or sunset, and the bride prefers to pick the flowers herself for her bouquet.

In the 1970s, cascade forms gained their clarity and became much more popular than before. For formal weddings, more classic bouquets of darker colors are characteristic, while for informal weddings, one flower and a bunch of unarranged flowers are typical. With the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana in 1981, more lavish, cascading bouquets became popular. As always, round bouquets are always popular, but somewhat more airy and free.

Today, cascading forms are also popular, but with the use of much more greenery than before and a greater need to make the bouquet look as natural as possible. Of course, there is also the inevitable round bouquet, but now quite compact. Since today's wedding dresses are less and less formal, then something should be added to this type of bouquet that will make it more modern, more eccentric, so we generally suggest greenery like plumosus and beargrass. Of course, today's bride needs to stand out with originality, so it's no wonder if you see hot peppers, moss, mushrooms, pine cones and many other details from nature in a modern Biedermeier. The most popular colors are white and champagne (cream) with the use of slightly stronger green, which is the most elegant variant. Strong colors are very rarely combined, and the use of ribbons and tulle is almost completely lost, except for some detail in Biedermeier of satin or lace. It is very important to pay attention to the style of the wedding dress, make-up, hairstyle and many other details that we need to create the perfect Biedermeier.

In the end, we suggest that you come to Teleflora and find the "one of your dreams" in the abundance of catalogs, or that we can make it so together.

TELEFLORINA BIEDERMEYERS

Biedermeier is your alter ego, so we will scratch a little at your essence. It doesn't hurt anything, on the contrary, as long as you hold a real Biedermeier in your hand, and a real man under your arm, you will feel like the right person at the right time in the right place, in one word, a WOMAN.

Bouquets, "connections" of flowers with originally circularly arranged flowers have survived to this day. In Teleflora, we can also talk about the characterology of the bride based on the choice of bidermeier, because each one has the character of a separate personality.

Biedermeier purse

An original Biedermeier bouquet, an upgraded rose in an ivy purse. These purses are particularly popular this year. They can be made of wire with a flower detail or of equisetum.

So many faces, so many Biedermeiers

It's simply always in fashion. Three large roses. Maroussia, sheer organdy band, greenery detail, no or very little leg shortening. Dignified and noble strength. Even eccentric brides love these simple lines with extravagant details of emotional unrestrainedness: semi-precious stones, crystals, pearls... Biedermeiers adapt to the style and color of the wedding dress, costume or dress.

Round Biedermeier

Round Biedermeiers, whose shape is associated with eternity, can be compact with accentuated greenery or without greenery. Roses in bud are combined with more open roses so that the impression is given that the bouquet breathes, swells. Complemented by freesias, alstroemerias and the increasingly popular ornithogalum, grasses that fall in tufts for the idealist woman. The forces of light strive for complete power (white, pastel tones of flowers), and loveliness and lightness are released. Combination of white roses and white orchids - generous temperament, instinctive, sensual. White, which is synonymous with purity. Purely because it is considered to have no defects, because it is white. Rare and precious.

If a wedding is a symbol of the union of a man and a woman, then Biedermeier is a symbol of the union of a woman and her soul. He is the messenger of her heart. Small Biedermeiers, slightly eccentric, pastel tones, champagne most often. They carry within them an abundance of life and all infinity. It is believed that a girl who catches a Biedermeier thrown over her shoulder will soon get married herself.

At one wedding, 7 girls were made happy at once. When the bride threw her Biedermeier, a surprise followed, 7 roses arranged separately as a mini bouquet flew towards the surprised girls.

Biedermeier overhand

Most often it is a bouquet of callas for the arms - refined lines with leaves of dracaena or aspidistra, aralia and beargrass grass that fall and a bow made of silk net or other material with a dress of simple lines made of lace in white or champagne color, it looks classy

Semi-hanging Biedermeier

This wedding bouquet is the most adaptable. We recommend it with a long ivory dress, with simple lines, or with a peach dress with embroidery and appliqués in those tones. Flowers as well as greenery slightly emerge from the frame of the circle, spreading moderately on one or both sides of the bouquet. It fits equally well in the hand of a determined woman who knows what she wants as well as one who is less sure.

Since then, Lady Di has become increasingly popular. She demands a gorgeous wedding dress. All of the orchids suit elegant and subtle ladies. A maximum of three types of flowers are combined (lilies, roses and smaller flowers). Enriched with pearls, it acquires the quality of royalty.

Unusual, eccentric Biedermeier

It often represents a combination of an original idea and form or the addition of something unpredictable (Biedermeier with vegetables). Fruits, crooked branches, moss, perca... are used as details.

Wreath of grass blades

A wreath of grass blades with mini roses moved from the bride's head to her hands. It seems chic and is increasingly popular in Teleflora. As a circle, it is a symbol of protection and stabilizer of soul and body. It goes best with a long flowing dress in baby pink, airy blue, turquoise and of course white. It emphasizes the romantic and lovely nature of the bride and gives a feeling of lightness, she seems to be floating.
